    KUDs, unit plans, pacing guides and curriculum maps are available in the Google Drive folder.  If you have resources that you would like to share such as online resources, formative assessments, projects, etc., please share them via google drive with the Chief Academic Officer at squireg@weldoncityschools.k12.nc.us.

     

    Teachers

    Math I, II and III resources developed in the Northeast RESA partnership over the Spring and Summer months are available under OpenClass from within your district google account.  Search for NC Math I, NC Math II and NC Math III are available to Copy into your account from the Exchange.  Please email Jason Parker, jasonparker@weldoncityschools,k12.nc.us to check on your access if you have difficulty.

  • EngageNY Resources for Common Core Math and ELA
    Full years of curricular materials are currently available on EngageNY, for grades Kindergarten through 9th grade in Mathematics and Kindergarten through 8th grade in English Language Arts (ELA). NYSED is working with our partners to deliver high quality curricular materials for all remaining grades in both Mathematics and ELA. In Mathematics, full years of instruction will be available for all remaining grades this summer. In ELA, full years of instruction will be available in 9th and 10th grade this summer and 11th and 12th grade this fall.

  • Lexile Framework for Reading
    When a Lexile text measure matches a Lexile reader measure, this is called a "targeted" reading experience. The reader will likely encounter some level of difficulty with the text, but not enough to get frustrated. This is the best way to grow as a reader—with text that's not too hard but not too easy.
  • ReadWorks.org

    The non-profit ReadWorks is committed to solving the nation's reading comprehension crisis by giving teachers the research-proven tools and support they need to improve the academic achievement of their students.

    ReadWorks provides research-based units, lessons, and authentic, leveled non-fiction and literary passages directly to educators online, for free, to be shared broadly.

    The ReadWorks curriculum is aligned to the Common Core State Standards and the standards of all 50 states. Most importantly, ReadWorks is faithful to the most effective research-proven instructional practices in reading comprehension.

  • Understanding Text Dependent Questions
    Understanding Text-Dependent Questions is a 1-4 hour module designed to promote understanding of how text-dependent questions support the key shifts required by the Common Core State Standards for ELA/Literacy    
  • Quantile Framework for Mathematics
    The Quantile Framework measures two important aspects of learning - the learner and what is being learned. The Quantile Framework provides both a measure for students and a measure for skills and concepts. The student measure describes what the student is capable of understanding. The skill or concept measure describes the difficulty, or demand, in learning that skill or concept. Both measures are represented as a number followed by the letter Q (i.e. 640Q) on the Quantile Scale.

      Student Achievement Partners assembled and published many free resources especially useful for implementation of the Common Core Standards. On their site, http://www.achievethecore.org, there also are many articles, sites, and research teachers shouldn’t miss.

      Designed for state and district leaders interested in implementing Common Core standards in ways that strengthen "4Cs":
